At Lakeside Children's Academy, we believe teaching children to “give back” to the community is important.
Our children are involved in many activities throughout the year. Some of the activities our children were involved in 2010-2011 were:

  • Circle of Concern- Collected Food
  • Mailed Cards and Care Packages to United States Soldiers
  • Participate in the Manchester Parade
  • Collected Beanie Babies for Meramec Bluffs

Lakeside has multiple experiences throughout the year for our children. We believe in offering exciting, fun, and educational moments such as Firefighters, Policemen, Santa, Petting Zoo’s, Dentists and many other guests.

These guests share their hobbies and talents with our children. Mrs. Jan, Ms. Anne, and Mr. Andy to name a few! Lakeside teachers always observe in the room or special activities.

Our unique Grandfriends Program involves children age’s three to twelve. Lakeside children travel to our neighbors, a nursing home and retirement center, and interact with their older friends. The children sing, perform plays, dance, and talk with the residents. This is a rewarding, educational experience for Lakeside children and their Grandfriends.

Soccer Shots is offered at Lakeside. Families are responsible for the tuition. The Soccer Shots curriculum was developed over ten years ago by several professional soccer players who had extensive youth soccer coaching experience. The Soccer Shots curriculum places a high emphasis on both character development and soccer skill development and has been proven successful for thousands of children throughout the United States. Each session is 30-40 minutes and the primary objective of each session is to creatively introduce children to the sport of soccer.

Stretch-N-Grow is also offered at Lakeside and parents are responsible for the tuition. This program is designed to promote exercise and wellness for pre-school and early elementary- aged children. It assists parents and child care providers in developing good health and fitness habits in young children. The program is taught at Lakeside by a Stretch-N-Grow Coach. Stretch-N-Grow “Stars” participate in weekly sessions, which include exercise, activities and discussions on health and related issues such as nutrition, hygiene, and safety. “Stars” have lots of fun while they learn to enjoy exercise and build good habits.

The Book People is a company that comes to Lakeside every couple of months and provides books for our parents to purchase. They sell children’s books, resource books, CDs book sets and more. This is a nice service for Lakeside parents and the books are very reasonably priced.

Imagine Tomorrow computer classes for kids is offered at Lakeside. The number one goal of Imagine Tomorrow is to prepare all children with the skills they will need to succeed in the future. From the very first class, children receive more than just computer basics. Each experience integrates sophisticated technology concepts such as E-mail and the Internet in an age-appropriate way that even our youngest students understand and enjoy. The result is more than just a class. Imagine Tomorrow is a positive learning experience that not only boosts computer and literacy skills, but also builds self confidence in an environment where every child is successful.

Kinderdance is a fun way for children to learn the skills of dance. Children meet once weekly with their class and Mrs. Molly, Kinderdance Owner. Mrs. Molly teaches the children ballet, tap, and other types of movement. These dances not only work children's large motor skills, but also team work, listening skills, following directions, and memorization. At the end of the session, the children perform at a local venue where family, friends, and the community are invited to see their dances. Children love this class and learn many skills along the way.
